Moving on Lake Time
Port Clinton, the Ottawa County seat at the mouth of the Portage River, calls itself the Walleye Capital of the World, and in summer the whole shoreline fills with boaters, ferry traffic to the islands and visitors to Lakeside and the Marblehead Lighthouse. Moving here is a little different: seasonal cottages that open and close with the weather, long gravel drives, and peak-season traffic that changes how a moving day runs.
The drive is about an hour from our shop, and we’re glad to make it. One Port Clinton family needed help fast. “My situation was dire and I had to have help,” they wrote. “They were scheduled short notice, they came and worked hard! They called ahead on their way.”

“Great Team. Both Hard Workers Who Care About Doing Things Right”
They were scheduled short notice, they came and worked hard! They called ahead on their way. The receptionists we spoke with on the phone making the order were efficient and kind as well.

Port Clinton Moving Tips
- Plan around the season. June through August brings the heaviest traffic on SR-2 and around the ferry docks. Weekday moves usually go smoother.
- Moving into Lakeside? It’s a gated community with seasonal rules. Ask about vehicle passes and move times before booking.
- Long drives and soft ground: tell us about gravel drives, lawns the truck can’t cross or long carries from the road.
- Island homes: Miller Ferry is the islands’ only vehicle ferry. Talk to us early about any move involving the Bass Islands.
